Desalination project of Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base
2019-01-22

Belven successfully delivers the first batch of order, which is for  the largest desalination project in petrochemical industry: Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base desalination Project.

Zhejiang Petrochemical 40 million tons refining and chemical integration project will be established in Daishan County, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. The total scale of the project is 40 million tons/year refining, 10.4 million tons/year aromatic hydrocarbons and 2.8 million tons/year ethylene. The total investment of the project is about 160 billion yuan, which will be implemented in two phases. As the largest project in Sinopec industry in recent years, the project will be a strong driver in petrochemical industry. Zhoushan is an island lacking freshwater resources. Therefore seawater desalination project, as one of the important supporting projects of the project, provides water security for the project.

Belven has rich experience in the field of seawater desalination. In addition to the double eccentric butterfly valve used in conventional seawater desalination, Belven developed Belven seawater environment corrosion-resistant butterfly valve for Zhoushan desalination project. Ductile iron is used in valve body and valve plate, with lower cost. Halar is completely sprayed on inner and outer surface of valve body and valve plate. Duplex stainless steel is used in valve shaft. Duplex steel is used in valve plate fastener. It has excellent corrosion resistance in sea water application.
